I’m Dagobert, an entrepreneur from Lille, France 🇫🇷
I’ve been creating startups since 2018, and went through every ups and downs you can imagine. From years of grinding at $0, to sudden “overnight” success, and back to square one after a massive burnout.
Now I’m building a new product to help indie makers get visibility and sales. It has lots of potential and the early numbers I great. There is real momentum and I think it will get me to a good financial situation by the end of the year. But right now I’m still not ramen profitable, and only have 3 months of runway left. And now I’m even getting married in October, which makes everything even crazier.
As I joked about my situation on twitter, someone said he would sponsor my suit to help me. At first I thought it was ridiculous, but more and more people wanted to participate, and I started taking it more seriously.
We were planning on a low-key wedding with just a few guests, and my wife and I would’ve been happy with that. But this idea made me realize there was a fun way to tie my wedding to the community I love the most, and give it a deeper meaning. For sure it helps me pay for the wedding which is awesome, but I’m also inviting the entire indie community to share the most important day of my life, and celebrate together. It won’t just be me, her, and a couple of our closest friends and family… It will also be the whole indie community behind me 🤩
So I talked my future wife into it, found a stylist, and we eventually decided to theme the whole wedding around indie startups.
